John Andrew Boyd
John was first elected to Thatcham Town Council in 2007 and has twice been mayor. He has also chaired all the main committees. He is a retired teacher but still does supply teaching and aids the school vocational department. He’s also been a governor of Francis Bailey school.
He cares about the planet, vulnerable people and the less fortunate in his community, living by the values of the Liberal Democrat party. That’s why hopes to continue serving the people of Thatcham.
Owen Edward Jeffery
Owen Jeffery has lived in Thatcham since coming to work at Racal Electronics in Reading in 1979. His three children all went to Kennet School and two still live in Thatcham.
After ten years as a Royal Naval Reservist, he served as a Thatcham Town Councillor 1981-2015, and then again from 2019. He has also served on Newbury District and then West Berkshire Councils where he has previously been Deputy Leader. He has tried to help make the town and district better places to live in for over 30 years and will work hard to continue that.
Valerie Grace Watts
Originally from Rugby, Val has lived in Crookham Park since 2015 and worships at St Marys Church, Thatcham.
She was employed in the financial services sector in Reading but more recently completed some Number 5 Counselling courses, trained in complementary therapies, and has a B.Sc. (Hons) Ost.
As an Allied Health Professional, she was grateful to be able to treat patients from May 2020 and is fully vaccinated.
